The selection of the cover must be carefully made in accordance with its purpose and requirements.
The use of the rubber cover at playgrounds that prevents falls must conform with EN 1176 and 1177 regulations. This means that the thickness of the rubber tiles will depend on the size and height of the playground equipment as specified in these two regulations.

Another important aspect that should be considered is the nature and amount of use. In places of high use, we recommend using rubber tiles with increased abrasion resistance (eg. EPDM top layer). Other aspects come into play in areas where there is no requirement for shock-absorbing capability. On terraces, sidewalks, around pools, the more compacted, ES, EST, SP, BHT types should be used significantly prolonging the service life of the rubber cover.

The rubber coverings are water permeable, so both during storage and construction one must ensure the free flow of water, this will ensure that over time there won’t be pre-aging and pre-discoloration.

The permissible deviation of our products is +/- 2 mm.

The substructure of Granugreen® rubber tiles can be concrete, asphalt, any other solid surface or well-compacted lose base as crushed sand gravel, crushed stone, or similar material. However, when laying the coverings, it should be taken into account that the thermal expansion due to the properties of the raw materials used can be up to +/- 1%, which can lead to signifi cant deformation of the casing in high heat. Therefore, tiles thinner than 40 mm and manufactured using EPDM granules must be attached to (concrete or asphalt) surfaces using glue.

In situations where there is an absence of solid base (e.g., sand) it is recommended that the following should be observed:

- Based on the type of rubber covering it is recommended to use rubber tiles with built-in plastic fastener system.

- It is advisable to build a concrete base around the covering so that the edging element can be
attached to it with screws. In the absence of this it is worthwhile in other ways (e.g., sports field edging, garden edging, etc.) to ensure protection against the rubber tiles slipping apart.

- The tiles can be fastened to each other with plastic fasteners.

- The tiles can be fixed to a solid base (concrete, asphalt, mosaic tiles, floor tiles, etc.) or to a wall by gluing. A polyurethane-based adhesive is recommended for this, but any glue used for rubber for outdoors is also acceptable.

Plastic fastener system

Tiles of a thickness of 30 mm or more are made with plastic fasteners. On all four sides of FS, ES, and Granugrass type tiles are 2-2 (and on 100 * 100 cm sheets 4-4 pieces on 2 sides of the tiles) holes are drilled during production. The holes divide exactly the 50 cm long tile into ¼ and ¾.

Additional locations have been created in the newly developed FSN tiles, and the palette has been expanded with new tile sizes so that they can be installed in several patterns, examples of which have been described on the previous pages. The unique, special plastic pipes fit snugly into the holes located on the side of the tiles of the Granugreen® system.

The rubber tiles which are connected to each other with a plastic fastener system can be easily taken apart at a later time without damage and can be newly installed again as necessary.

Packaging, storage

Our products - usually placed on 100 * 100 cm pallets - are packed with foil, with a rain cover on top, and strapped using edge protectors. On a pallet, we generally ship product that weighs between
950-1000 kg.

It is important to observe the following during storage:

- Pallets weighing nearly 1 ton must be stored in a flat, solid area. Pallets weighing almost 1 ton must be stored in an approximately flat, solid area. The pallets must not be stacked on top of each other! Due to improper storage flexible tiles in the lower rows can be damaged due to a much higher load than
allowed, thus they may be permanently deformed. Pallets must not be stacked on top of each other. Due to improper storage, flexible sheets in the lower rows of the pallet may be permanently deformed due to a load much higher than permitted.

- In case of prolonged storage, unprotected from rain, open the side foil wrapper. Ventilation of the products on the pallets must be ensured. If the tiles are exposed to humidity for a long time, they will get discolored and age prematurely.

Maintenance

Our flexible coverings are basically maintenance-free. In demanding areas, and indoor applications
regular cleaning is recommended. Tiles can be cleaned using standard cleaning and disinfecting agents.
Dry or wet carpet cleaners are used with the usual cleaning and disinfecting agents.

Rubber tiles of normal composition through normal use over time will gradually darken and then begin to abrade over time, some of the upper rubber granules begin to separate. We cannot accept responsibility for the color change to the tiles through normal use. As color changes begin to occur the tiles can be renewed by the application of a thin layer of polyurethane.
